Sensational! V2 by sequinjar Sensational! V2 by sequinjar
There were things on my original Sapphire Shores (left) that I wished I had done differently, or thought of better ways to do in hindsight. So I decided to remake her with better materials, as well as including some design edits like adding ruffles on her blouse and reducing the size of her skirt-pokey thingys. I had a lot of interest from folks interested in buying my first Sapphire, so I've decided to sell this remade Sapphire Shores.

This Sapphire Shores will be the only one I will make, as I will most likely never make her again, just because she took me so long to make. X_X

She's so perfect! I LOVE the ruffles on her dress! Both are stunning, but I love the remade one's little details. Everything is so full and alive on the plushie - lovely job!

wow these look show perfect its as if its the real pony from the show!! I am sure this is a big trade secret for you but I must know, will you be releasing a pattern anytime at all? I sew myself and have experimented making my own patterns and have yet to get full show accuracy in my work and am looking around at various other patterns to draw insight from as to further perfect it. Voodooo's being the most accurate for the heads I have ever seen to date. I was simply looking for pointers on how you make your mane and tails look so darn incredible!

Sapphire Shores actually won my heart in the 5 seconds they allotted her. To see a respectable plushie of her makes me gitty. I would absolutely love to be the owner of this plush but I only have about 200 bucks to put toward it. If you don't sell her through bids maybe we could work something out?

How in Equestria were you able to make all this work even twice? I mean, as sensational as she is... this must have been a haybarn full of work... All those details, oh my... Making only one must have taken ages but two :D Holy guacamole :D But they are both awesome! I love the way you did her outfits justice. But my favourite of your ponies is still Fanypants :D

Sapphire shores is easily the most complicated character in the series. It took me 8 times longer to make a patch of her than any other character, and I refuse to make more because of the insane amount of work involved. This is even more insane-r. Assuming that is a word.

I totally believe you :D I guess with making Sapphire, you really have outdone yourself^^ Making her two times is really amazing... That's more than most people would manage to - if they were even able to make her even once .'

So I totally admire your work, you have my highest respect :D These two are really just speeeectaculaaaar! Ouh! :D

Thank you! Making her for the first time was difficult and time consuming, but the second time was a lot of fun since after making my first one and seeing her everyday, there were just so many changes I wanted to try out. :D

Fancypants is still my favourite too!

This pony is brilliant! Bravo.
Alas, an unemployed marketing grad in this tight British economy can only look through the shop window and dream.

If you don't mind, I have a marketing question. I noticed that you increased the minimum bid amount on the eBay auction between when I first saw it and when I visited again to send a link to my friend in Florida. Usually, when people want to sell, they decrease the price. I'm curious, why did you increase the price and by nearly four times the original amount?
Consider this professional curiosity -- after how much time I spent in grad school, I guess I'm stuck in learning mode.

Hello, thank you! :) A reasonable questionable, the very first starting bid price was actually a mistake by me (Sootstitch). I set up the listing but forgot to change the starting price. So I asked my sister (Prism Twine, the one who made Sapphire) how much to set the starting price, but we couldn't come to a agreement on how much to start off with. I watched how much time my sister put into making Sapphire, and I was concerned that she wouldn't sell to the amount that I felt would reflect the time she put into her.

After much debate with Prism, we both agreed that what we should do is set the starting price to the minimum price that we would like to sell her for. We felt it's more truthful to place the starting bid at the minimum price we would like for her, rather then setting a reserve price. At least that way, folks can flat out see the minimum price we would like for her, rather then guessing at a hidden reserve price. It's possible she may receive no bids, due to the starting price being too high or lack of interest, but at the very least, it'll give us a starting point.

Hope this sounds reasonable, apologies if the sudden price change was a surprise.

Thanks for the reply. It makes sense.

At university, my courses were about marketing mass produced junk. I've found marketing one-of-a-kind stuff to be more interesting. Artwork, regardless of the medium, is especially challenging because you are selling emotion. Whether fabric art, like this plushie, or a painting or a sculpture, the piece is going to be put on display and enjoyed visually.

I love watching auctions, even though I cannot afford any, because they show the tension between the artist and the patron. The artist values the work by the effort to create it. The patron values the work by the emotional attachment and pleasure from it. Those values often are far apart. I am always surprised by what sells and what doesn't.

Best wishes with the sale.

Wow wow wow!! These are amazing! I think you are the only person I've seen who has made a Sapphire Shores Plushie, and you have done an amazing job! She is so show accurate!

You have done a much better job with her clothes, the ruffles are a lot better, and so is her skirt. However, I do prefer the hat of the first one, but this is just me being picky. Well done, and keep up the good work!
